Creating Connection

I include engagement sessions in every wedding package I offer. Not as a bonus or an extra, but as a necessary part of how I work.

When I arrive on your wedding day, I want us to have already spent some time together, to know how it feels to work with each other, and for you to feel comfortable in front of the lens.

An engagement session gives us that space. No timeline, no guests, no expectations. Just the two of you, and me documenting a more everyday part of your relationship. It helps build trust. You get a feel for how I shoot, how I give direction, and how I notice the small things that matter.

By the time your wedding day arrives, we’re not starting from scratch. You’ll know what to expect, and I’ll know a bit more about what’s important to you. That familiarity makes the whole day smoother and more relaxed. And that shows in the photos.

If you’re having a destination wedding or we’re not able to do an engagement session ahead of time, I still want to create that same sense of connection. In those cases, I always offer rehearsal dinner coverage or some added time on the wedding day itself. It gives us a chance to meet face-to-face, ease into things, and still build that comfort before the ceremony begins.

At the end of the day, my goal is always the same: to tell your story in a way that feels honest, personal, and true to you. Starting that process early makes all the difference.
